Most of the 'modifications' that were listed increase safety. whats wrong with that?

bahaha true enough! Slick tires, 4-point-harnesses, lowered suspension, roll cages, wheelie bars... what more could a parent ask for?

Well it's out now...I have a short shifter....guess I'm a street racer now....I was trying to keep it hidden.

Do people actually have street cars with parachutes on them?

Some people do, but don't use them on the street... Just on the track, like the Nelson Racing Pontiac le mans. It's a 2000hp streetcar, but is used to drag as well. It has the chute on it when it is on the street. If I can find the vid, I'll post it.

Can you imagine accidentally releasing the parachute on say...the highway....

I didn't think people would use them on the street, and I wasn't really thinking a 2000hp car, that's understandable.....more like an every day car trying to be cool.

And having that as a daily driver...well could lead to trouble....but it would be sweet!

I like where it says nitrous oxide can produce up to 400 extra hp on the average engine.
I'ld like to see an "average" engine take a 400 shot of nitrous. :?

i was thinking the same thing... where the hell are they doing their research. 95% of the "street racers" in toronto are in their moms minivans and grandams or a 92-95 civic that is rotted to the ground

Dalton mcguinty is a f*** tard, their gov't is so ass backwards when it comes to street racing. Reminds me of when louis runs for mayor on family guy, but instead of "9/11" it's "street racing" /rant

Ps my cx7 has a stock turbo, must be a street racer.

Common modifications and accessories that street racing cars share, Include:

Engine super and turbo chargers
Four-point seatbelt harness
Roll cages
Lowered suspension
Racing pedals
Slick tires
Oversized tachometers
Parachutes
Short shifter
Wheelie bars
Nitrous oxide

...when did parachutes.... become a common modification

The whole pamphlet is ill conceived and poorly designed. The lay-out, the graphics, that logo and slogan 'Erase' (or eRASE, if you read the text...they haven't made up their minds on it)...*chuckle*. If it's meant to inform the public (and parents) of the dangers of their youth being a 'street racer', most folks probably can't get past the cheesy '80s graphics...especially if the majority of them are from ethnic communities.

As for the 'racers' them-selves, they're probably laughing their asses off at it. OK, now I'd better go out and remove that 'chute from the back of my Z...

That is asuck a laugh riot. All they are trying to do is say they are doing things to put a stop to street racing. Also Paynter isn't it true that aside from the douche bags in their mom's minivans also you get little Peter Toomuchofdaddy'smoney the third whipping around daddy's MB SLR and BMW M3?

Any kid who can get their hands on stickers with a performance name brand thinks they are a street racer.
